Meet Julia Moran: Designing E-Bikes for Everyone

What turns a passion into a career? For Julia Moran, Principal Engineer at Monarc Bikes, it all started on two wheels in Wisconsin.

Inspired by her dad’s work in the bike industry, Julia studied mechanical engineering and took a job at a local bike shop in Madison. There, she noticed how intimidating bike shops could be for everyday riders and women. Determined to change that, she began leading inclusive group rides to prove that everyone belongs on a bike. Since graduating, she has worked in the bike industry designing bikes, always with the same mission.

While much of the bike industry designs for competitive racers (the 0.1%), Julia and the team at Monarc design intentionally for the rest of us. Julia quickly became an ebike evangelist after adopting an ebike for her commutes in Chicago. and now spends her time riding every type of bike.
