MINNEAPOLIS — June 23, 2026 — Following the successful debut of its flagship adventure off-road model, the Marker, trailblazing electric bicycle company, Monarc Bikes, today announced the official launch of its second major model: the Tracer. Purpose-built for urban commutes and inner-city transit, the Tracer transitions Monarc’s hallmark mechanical reliability and unmatched power profile into a sleek, agile, fast-rolling street machine.
The Tracer shares the foundational engineering backbone that put Monarc Bikes on the map with the Marker, ensuring that city riders do not have to compromise on power or durability. At the heart of the Tracer is the same formidable, high-torque 750-watt Bafang rear hub motor that reaches a peak of 1,638 watts, and a Shimano Cues 9-speed drivetrain, combined with Monarc’s game-changing standard second battery configuration included right out of the box. The addition of a second battery effectively eliminates range anxiety, allowing urban commuters to cross entire metropolitan regions, tackle steep city inclines, and handle multiple days of round-trip travel on a single charge.
The batteries are LG 15 Ah 48-volt batteries and use LG’s M52 performance cells, which provide 720 watt hours each for a total of 1440 watt hours. Based on internal testing, Tracer can achieve up to 35 miles of throttle-only range. When using more eco-friendly pedal assist levels, the estimated range increases to 65 miles, which, combined with the second battery, gives riders 130 miles of range. The batteries are certified to UL 2271, and waterproof rated to IPX7. The entire bike is rated to UL 2849 and IPX6. The batteries come with a 5-amp Fast Charger, which charges a battery in under 3 hours.
The Tracer is designed to effortlessly replace short car trips and public transit commutes, presenting an economical, eco-friendly, and exhilarating alternative for modern urbanites. To deliver an incredibly agile and efficient ride on paved city surfaces, the Tracer replaces the oversized, high-rolling-resistance fat tires of the off-road Marker with optimized Kenda 27.5-inch by 2.2-inch performance commuter tires. These narrower, high-pressure street tires decrease rolling resistance, sharpen high-speed cornering precision, and yield crisp, responsive handling across asphalt, concrete, bike lanes, and variable urban terrain.

Upholding Monarc’s strict commitment to premium quality, the Tracer features the same high-stopping-power hydraulic disc brakes and ergonomically contoured comfort handlebar grips found on the Marker, maximizing rider safety and hand comfort during extended road trips. An in-house designed Gneiss (pronounced “nice”) front fork is lighter, stiffer, and features a “reverse-arch” lower for a more confident riding experience. The 3.5-inch color touchscreen is compatible with a suite of smart accessories, including a smart helmet, rearview radar, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The app includes over-the-air updates, full ride tuning, turn-by-turn navigation, and a host of additional functionality.
